Vibration engineering

Vibration engineering aims to understand, control and optimize the dynamic behavior of industrial plants, structures and equipment. Vibration phenomena, whether mechanical, pulsatory or environmental in origin, can generate cyclic stresses, resonance phenomena, fatigue failures or operational disturbances. In demanding industrial environments, vibration control is a strategic issue in terms of reliability, safety and performance.

SIM Engineering supports its customers in the analysis, characterization and treatment of vibration phenomena, with an approach based on measurement, modeling and field expertise.

Complete mastery of the dynamic behavior of structures and networks

Vibration engineering is based on identifying the physical mechanisms at the origin of dynamic stresses, and on analyzing the response of the systems concerned. SIM Engineering mobilizes advanced measurement tools, experimental modal analyses, numerical simulations and structured diagnostic methodologies to objectify observed phenomena.

Each intervention aims to link excitations (mechanical, pulsatory or environmental) to the dynamic behavior of structures, machines or piping networks. This integrated approach makes it possible to identify resonance risks, assess fatigue stresses and define corrective solutions adapted to actual operating conditions.

Our services

Vibration engineering is organized around six complementary services.

  • Vibration monitoring is used to characterize dynamic operating levels and identify critical situations.
  • Pulsation measurements are used to analyze the pressure fluctuations that generate oscillating forces in networks.
  • Modal analysis (EMA) and operational deformation studies (ODS ) are used to determine natural frequencies and understand the actual dynamic behavior of structures.
  • Theanalysis of causes identifies the precise origin of vibratory phenomena by combining measurements and simulations.
  • Vibration exposure in buildings assesses the impact of loads on structures and occupants.
  • Finally, vibration isolation enables us to design and dimension solutions designed to limit vibration transmission and ensure the long-term safety of installations. Together, these services form a coherent offering dedicated to controlling vibration risks and optimizing industrial performance.
