SIM Engineering : Acoustics and Vibration Design Office

Regulatory measures

Regulatory noise and vibration measurements are a key factor in controlling noise and vibration risks in industrial, tertiary and urban environments. They meet strict legal obligations designed to protect local residents, employees and infrastructures, while ensuring safe operation of activities.

As an independent acoustics consultancy, SIM Engineering supports owners, operators and employers in carrying out measurement campaigns that comply with French and European requirements. Each project is part of a rigorous technical approach, focused on regulatory compliance, risk prevention and operational decision-making.

A demanding regulatory framework backed by independent expertise

The regulatory framework for environmental noise, workplace noise and vibration exposure calls for standardized protocols, certified instrumentation and expert interpretation of results.

SIM Engineering is fully conversant with the regulations applicable to industrial facilities, whether classified (ICPE) or not, to professional environments and to health and safety obligations in the workplace. Measurements are carried out according to standardized methodologies, using calibrated metrological equipment, guaranteeing the reliability of the data produced. The analyses we provide enable us to objectify situations, qualify exposure levels and provide robust technical data for administrative, preventive or litigation purposes.

Our services

This area of expertise covers three complementary services.

  • ICPE and neighborhood noise measurements are used to check compliance with regulatory emergence limits, to assess the noise impact of activities on residential areas, and to secure administrative files.
  • Noise measurements in the workplace are designed to accurately characterize employee exposure (LEX,8h), identify where action values are exceeded and structure effective prevention plans.
  • Finally, vibration exposure measurements at work enable us to assess hand-arm and whole-body vibrations, compare levels with regulatory thresholds and guide corrective action. All these services form part of a global, pragmatic and results-oriented approach, reconciling regulatory compliance, personal protection and the sustainable performance of working environments.
